Will Write On Food – Food Bloggers Converge in Sacramento to Learn, Dine, and Disseminate

The organizers of the International Food Blogger Conference couldn’t believe their luck when they started looking for a host city for the 2016 conference. Major cities were proposing their usual availability of hotels, resources, and transportation. The City of Sacramento’s proposal made a much bigger impression by offering itself as the farm-to-fork capital and the center of much of the nation’s agriculture. Sacramento had so much to offer that the IFBC organizers decided to return again this September for the 2017 conference.

Food bloggers from around the country, and a few other countries, will converge at the end of this month to discuss food, writing, and technology in terms of improving their blogs and growing their audiences. Many bloggers are just beginning and looking for the help offered through seminars and networking opportunities. Seasoned bloggers return to learn the latest changes to the ever-shifting Internet landscape and how they affect their blogs.

The conference also offers the opportunity for brand representatives to reach out to bloggers during social events. These connections often lead to freelance writing opportunities, advertising income, and other beneficial arrangements. Vendors hope to extend their reach to new customers while receiving content and endorsements from the bloggers.

Sacramento wins as well. Conference attendees receive a greatly reduced registration fee if they agree to write about the conference, vendors, and host city. Since most of the vendors will be from the Greater Sacramento area, it presents the possibility for plenty of free publicity for the city and its businesses.
